its like the gold wing.... they completely remove the old stator system & install the small in size geo metro car alternator into the belt drive system..... it works !

actually this alternator is used to keep charge in the battery.... there is no other charging system.....and it can be wired for a regular xs650 wiring system.

the difference is that i plan to use this motor for all kinds of vehicles, snow mobiles, jet skis, buggys etc..........

after the researched 650 twin has all the bugs worked out of the new design...... it will also be built in a water cooled version .

and the geo metro alternator has the regulator & the rectifer built in !!!!!

the alternator is a big improvement for any cycle engine...... the stator in a regular cycle system tends to over heat and burn up the wiring on the stator..... to use an alternator is a positive way to go with the application i plan for the engine and the new engines...... a geo metro...

what if i use an alternator and wire the system to that instead of the original charging system.... which would be removed altogether ?

well if i had got the whole bike i would have restored it to new..... i just got the engine....in good shape. my main idea is to actually re-manufacture new engines atogether. all new 650 yamahas that have no transmission & run with the snowmobile type belt drive systems. this is what i have...

yep.......... those be the steel bearing seats that are cast into the case...... to re-inforce the crank . i would like to x-ray those bearing seats.....& know exactly what the diamentions of the inserts are . the one/s i am to use will be automotive type . (all steel alloy). and my...

i think i got my h.p. wrong......... its 50 h.p. at 7000+ rpm. still makes a great boat engine........ dependable too . got any old engines for sale ?
