    For Sale - 1980 XS650 Frame

Last call on this one guys. Next stop is the scrap yard. I think I also have a set of polished 34mm forks and trees. I bought them from someone else on here and never used them. Drive on over here and pick them both up.

Bump on this guys. I want it out of my garage. Don't want to ship or cut it up, and I don't want to just scrap it.

    For Sale - 1980 XS650 Frame

I have a 1980 XS650 frame that is left over from my build several years ago. The frame was pretty clean, but I used the donor bike to build on a Paughco frame. This one has an IL junk title. I'm not looking to get much out of it, but I'm moving and I have no reason to keep it. If you're near...

For Sale - XS650 Frame, Forks, and Trees $150

I have a frame from my donor bike, a 1980. Frame is in good shape and includes an IL Junk Title. You can use this title to build a bike and run through the IL Specially Constructed Vehicle program. I did the same program, but with a brand new Paughco frame. I also have a set of 34mm front...

1980 Bobber Build on Mr. Lucky's Frame

I'm fairly certain it started life as a stretch sport bob aftermarket tank, though someone had done some work to it (or worked it over ) before I got to it. Something like this: http://www.debrix.com/2-Stretched-Screw-Sport-Bob-Gas-Tank-Harley-XL-Sp-p/20057-k1.htm

1980 Bobber Build on Mr. Lucky's Frame

Bike is done, though I need to replace the base gasket as it's started to leak on me. We had a boy, and one more on the way, due at the end of August!

1980 Bobber Build on Mr. Lucky's Frame

Well, those guys from the Secretary of State Police were right. One week and a day after they were out I had a license plate and registration in my mailbox. Just a week after that I had a title in hand. Time to tear down that engine and rebuild for Spring. Lower cylinder gasket is leaking...

1980 Bobber Build on Mr. Lucky's Frame

Well, a couple of officers from the Illinois Secretary of State Police showed up yesterday afternoon, did my inspection (which I passed) and stamped a VIN into the neck of the frame. The one officer said at first glance "Well, this isn't your first rodeo." When I told him this was...

1980 Bobber Build on Mr. Lucky's Frame

Thanks a lot for the compliments! On a side note, after months of waiting and back and forth with the DMV, I finally have someone coming out this afternoon to do an inspection on the bike. Since it's a custom frame with a serial number (no VIN) it has to go through the Custom Vehicle Title...

October "build thread" nominations (previously Sept)

Well, since we can self nominate. I'll throw my hat in the ring. http://www.xs650.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4237 A nearly two year learning experience and labor of love. In the end, it was therapy that I badly needed on some cold winter days. Kent

Yeah, completely different concept. Even in those applications there is still a crankcase breather.
