    2020 XS650 Calendar VOTE HERE!

Hi Guys, Thanks for considering my bike for the calendar amongst such a great group of bikes. Mine started as a pile of parts and a whole bunch of ideas that slowly came together. I wanted it to start as a board tracker but it ended up as a vintage inspired bobber. It features 19" wheels front...

    2020 XS650 CALENDAR *OFFICIAL* THREAD - NOMINATIONS

Sorry for the confusion. That original picture was just a phone pic in the back yard so I was never really happy with it. Ended up having a fun outing taking photos of the bike, so thanks for the inspiration.

Finally got it finished and on the road. Still running a bit rich but runs well and handles nicely.

Tank and guards now painted and chain guard fabricated, so only final assembly and taillight wiring to do and it's finished!

    Vintage Bobber Build Thread

Hi guys, I had a go at converting the kick starter from a bottom swivel to a top swivel using some donor parts from an unknown Japanese bike. I chopped the top off my XS650 kicker, built up some steel so I could machine it into shape and then grafted the donor top section onto the original...

    Jim's Speed Twin Build

Jim, This one looks interesting. It's nice to have some artistic freedom to do what you want. Much easier than restorations, I think. I will be following. Cheers, Phil

    Vintage Bobber Build Thread

New electrics loom has now been built so lights and indicators etc. all working. Fitted a new chain and made some exhaust baffles to quieten it down a little. Still need to make a chain guard due to the swing arm changes and I want to modify the kickstarter to swivel at the top rather than the...

Here's a link to a video of the bike running. It's still a bit loud so needs some extra baffles.

Thanks Mailman, I fitted a Hughs CDI this weekend and then started it up. Second kick then straight into a nice idle. No oil leaks or fuel leaks. Couldn't be more pleased.

    Vintage Bobber Build Thread

Some may not like it but I've got a tool bag for the front to hold all the electric connections. The headlight shell is too small to do the job and there's no where else! After getting an expensive quote to have the headers made up I decided to get some mandrel bends and have a go myself. So...
