    Clutch help... hydraulic conversation

Awesome. Thx for confirming. Was a bit concerned since so much of the bike is custom.

    Clutch help... hydraulic conversation

I’ve converted to a hydraulic clutch setup. Before I fire the bike up and put in gear I’ve got a question. With the bike NOT running but in 1st gear and clutch depressed, can you rotate the rear wheel WITHOUT the engine compressing? Thx. Boris

    Petcock... is it really needed.

What carbs are you running? Assuming you've changed the float pin and seal.

    Petcock... is it really needed.

I used a 71 Tx650 tank as a core then went from there. The bottom portion of the tank is setup for the standard yamaha petcock, but as the project developed and tank mounting relative to carb postion came together, it was clear that I'm tight on space.

    Petcock... is it really needed.

Gary... I wish I had that much space. I have intake runners that bring the carbs back by an inch. I have the angled exit and have tried working with cabling. Still no room. Limited on space for inline unless I push things back into the space after the vertical frame support. And yes...

    Petcock... is it really needed.

I’m in a quandry. Bike is all one off custom work and after putting the tank in place, I noticed I am really tight on space to fit petcocks since the carbs sit so much higher and have the control cable coming out of the top. Rather than messing around and having to do more welding on a primed...

    Pamco w/ E-Advance on '83 - Cam busing?

That's what I figured for right side. The left is the issue. There is enough room for 2 bushings but all installation instructions state just 1. Can't imaging the left bushing should just float around back n forth. Looking at the Pamco site, Pete has an 80s specific rod with really wide...

    Pamco w/ E-Advance on '83 - Cam busing?

Confused on installation of cam bushings. I have an '83 that had TCI so no bushings installed. Purchased the entire advance unit and rod from a '79 which had 3 bushings. When installing bushings how many go on each side? On the right I can fit 2 side by side. On the left there is room for...

Intake cleaning - need help with hardened varnish/goop removal

XSLeo, didn't open the motor as its very low mileage. Here's a pic as best I can w/ Iphone. The black coloring is more dark brown. Maybe some backfireing into intake? No idea at this point.

Intake cleaning - need help with hardened varnish/goop removal

Its not glass blast beads more like tiny varnish pearls. I broke one off an crushed it easily. Gonna try to a get a few in a jar and see what solvent does.

Intake cleaning - need help with hardened varnish/goop removal

Finishing a build and after the motor dropped into the frame and I removed the intake covers, I noticed the runner (after manifold, but before the values) had bead like varnish looking balls. About 1/16" diameter and some of the wall surface is covered is the same brown/yellow gook. Its...

hyd clutch / brembo brake conversion

retiredgentleman is right..... Forgot to mention I'm running a 320mm rotor. For stock diameter 12 or 11 works. I tried 12mm on a 320 and braking was way too sensitive considering bike weights in at 370lbs. (lots of weight loss)
