Thanks gents...re using petcocks from current tank. I can find a suitable fuel tap/tank o ring at hardware store. Cheers!

All, 79 SF here. Going to be swapping tanks out in the near future. Questions is this....when swapping petcocks (non vacuum type) are there gaskets or other parts to replace when mounting to a new tank? Or can I simply pop on the petcocks and go for it?

As the ad says, whatcha got? Looking for L/R set with original paint. Some patina/wear is fine. Finally found a decent original paint tank, so like a similar set of covers to match. There are a few on ebay right now but wanted to check with the gang here to see if anybody wants/needs to let go...

Thanks...it was an eBay purchase a few years back. Advertised to fit "most Jap bikes of the 70's area" and on whatever the headlight measurement is. Sure enough, it fit. Can't recall who sold it and the vendor is long gone.Bet you could find one tho. It is zip tied in some strategic locations...

Follow up.... Replaced the starter gear, wishbone and return spring and still had grinding and over run. Realized that I could tap the starter button when the bike was running and could reproduce the noise I was hearing. So I suspected the relay was the issue. I also noticed the previous owner...

79 SF-Hanging out with some buddies after a good clean and polish for the winter months. Had this for sale earlier this year but decided to hang on to it for now. Replaced starter gear, wishbone spring, return spring but still have some run over when using the starter. Next stop...check safety...
