I'm thinking on making the investment on a PMA. Most likely a kit from Hughes Hand Built, along with a capacitor in place of the battery. Kick start only...
Will I be ok with factory ignition with the capacitor and what not?
10W40 for cold weather like winter seasons and 20W50 for summer seasons. Yamaha's recommendation! I feel like those japanese engineeres who made the motor probably know whats best.
I would avoid removing any material with such tools like a dremel. As long as its smooth for the gasket to lay on.. And I'd go ahead and find new valves along with keepers and such.
So I just got my rephased 1977 motor together and I'd like to test run it naturally. But i'm confused as to how this ignition should be wired exactly.
I also cant remember what wire from the points is for cylinder 1 and for cylinder 2.
Here's a video or what i'm looking at. Enlighten me please.
