    as long as theres no thin spots smeared out. they can get hot and ignight the cyl before you want it to. if there are any just knock em off with a file/sandpaper or dremel whatever you want

    The float bowl was overfilling on my left carb pulled them apart, found the o rings for the seats where solid and cracked replaced them cleaned the carbs and got to ride most of the day

    Thanks for the info. I pulled the float bowls the o rings on the seats where hard as rocks. Found some that fit in one of my o ring kits and it has fixed the problem. Even got to ride most of the day :)

    was doing bodywork on my tank today but it was actually nice out to i said fuck it and went for my first ride of the season the snow hasnt been off the roads up here in fort st john very long as you can see buy all the snow in the ditches

    dont cut holes in your neck. if you need to remove the races you take a welder and rip a quick bead around the face of the race, the weld shrinks up and the race will literally fall out, i do this all the time with wheelbearing races and the like

    im sure relocating your break stay will work out fine. i was out in the shop last night and the wheel was off anyhow so i took some pics of how my breaks work. ill throw them up in case some one finds this thread down the road.

    that looks like it will work great lester. thanks for the complements, that picture is from before i owned it its got a k&Q seat now sissie bar ext, it is a aftermarket caliper but the same idea could be applied to the stock one. as was said with this being a loop frame theirs a bit more room...

    the caliper is in between the tubes on my xs hardtail. there is a slider welded to the lower tube and a notch cut in the caliper it stops the caliper from spinning and lets it slide for chain tension i dont have any real pics of the breaks you can see caliper posostion in this photo from a po

    http://www.chopperhandbook.com/forks.htm it goes through all the fork types at the top but about halfway down it goes into trail and how to calculate it. use the #'s youve got there and figure out what your trail will be. that will tell you how it will handel darty or sluggish
