    Setting points

I did purchase a new set of feeler gauges, and they were pretty oily. After setting the points, I never thought about the oily gauge, I just started kicking it, and that's when it started kicking back. I'll get out there and clean the contacts off and see what happens. It's kicking back so bad...

    Setting points

My bike was not running right so I went through the trouble shooting guide and checked the timing chain, lubed advance weights, adjusted valves, new battery with a full charge, new plugs, cleaned carbs and checked float heights, then went to set point gaps. Couldn't seem to get them right, and...

80s XS650 Bobber the UK way

That's one good looking XS! The only 2 things I didn't care for were the Z-bars and pool cue grips, but you changed them both, so now I love it. Great custom work House!

    clutch adjustment screw.

I replaced the whole assembly when my gear broke, so I might have that bolt. Let me know if you still need it and I'll look for it when I get off work.

    WACO SHOOTING

HAHA????? One hand gun found outside, but 300 knives, chains, clubs and guns found inside. There were also 80 or so cars and trucks impounded that day that I assume were owned by the folks who were arrested. It wouldn't be too hard to carry a rifle in one of those vehicles.

    WACO SHOOTING

I have thought about it for three weeks, and I agree that there are cops who are just out of control. I also think that you would agree that an A-K 47 doesn't quite fall under the "Approved" concealed hand gun laws. Just saying.

    WACO SHOOTING

I keep hearing about how the bad cops shot the defenseless bikers. For starters, there was at least one automatic weapon found inside the restaurant, and over 300 other various weapons. I think it's important to remember that the "guilty by association" rule still, (and will always) apply to...

    Brush connection blowing main fuse

Not sure if this is your problem, but when I changed my brushes I had that little wire with the hole on the end in the wrong place. It kept blowing the fuse until I had it mounted correctly. Hope that helps.

    Clutch push rod help...

I can actually give some advice from recent experience... If you go with the one piece rod, make sure there is ONLY ONE BALL BEARING on each end, (one in the adjuster, and one on the clutch side.) The PO of my bike had two on the clutch side and drove me nuts trying to figure out why the rod...

    Bike for sale

Labor is free, if you can do the work. I've never priced parts for a top end rebuild, so I was wondering if $550 sounded about right, (including shop labor). Anyway, I guess until you open it up, you never know.

    Bike for sale

Is $550 for the top end with your labor? Looks super clean. So if he'd take a grand for the bike, (sellers should build in some wiggle room), then $550 for the top end, I'd think $1550 for a titled XS in this condition with a new top end would be a pretty good deal, right?

    Bad ass bobber!!!

Maybe he was referring to the stock bikes, the ones that look just like they did from the "factories". I chopped the shit out of mine, so I guess I can relate.

    Vented gas cap question

You suppose the Fleabay seller doesn't know what he's selling? Wouldn't be the first time. Looks like vents to me.

    Vented gas cap question

I'm running VM 36's with a peanut tank and single free flow petcock. I found this cap on Fleabay, but the seller claims it's not vented. What are the little holes around the edge if they're not vents, and from what I've read I have to have a vented cap, right?

    Wanted - TCI box

I had a similar problem when I first got my 78 Special. Turned out to be bad connections at the fuse box. After I cleaned and tightened them up, no more shutdowns!

    WACO SHOOTING

Remember, the raid on the Branch Dravidian's was by the FEDS, and they were a bunch of religious fanatics following a child molester who claimed to be a prophet hearing straight from the mouth of God. Not quite the same thing.

    WACO SHOOTING

From what we have heard locally, the management at Twin Peaks didn't arrange the meeting, but the bike club reserved the outside deck for it. One of the gangs who were uninvited showed up, and that's when it all started. Apparently there were gun shots fired inside first, and it spilled into the...
