    New To Me Bobber: Tennessee

Picked this XS650 up Thursday from around the Nashville area. Had a few electrical issue's I had to get straightened out which at this point I think/hope I have solved. Fab work seem to be done well. If anyone recognizes this bike let me know, Id love to find out the story behind it.

    Melting Fuses Woah's

I believe I found the issue. I think/hope! There's a hot wire running to nowhere, it was hidden under the tank. The heat shrink appears to have a small place rubbed in it and it looks like its been arching against the frame. Taped it up x's 10, bent it back and zip tied it out of the way...

    Melting Fuses Woah's

Man what a pain in the ass. I give credit to whoever wired this bike, it's actually a better job than I originally thought. What makes it a pain in the ass is everything is running through the frame. Cool for looks, terrible for trouble shooting. I've attempted drawing 3 different schematics...

    Melting Fuses Woah's

Ill say too that the charging system is on its own circuit from the on/off switch of the bike, is that common or normal? What I mean is I have a switch, I flip it on the on position, kick start the bike. Bike idles fine, but when given gas, it pops and sputters. I reach down to turn the...

    Melting Fuses Woah's

Highly possible! From what I can tell, everything has been twisted together and taped, not using connectors or splice connectors for that matter.

Bought a new to me hard tailed 1983 xs650. The electrical seemed fine at the time of making the purchase, took the bike out, ran great, lights worked, etc. Get it home and take off to ride yesterday. About 10 miles from the house it looses power and I roll to a stop on the side of the road. I...

    Newb looking for advice!

then there's this one... http://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/mcy/4966671959.html its an older build, it doesn't run either but I don't believe there's much wrong with it, maybe the carbs? I would strip it down, powder coat the frame, go with an original Yamaha logo tank, do away with the rear...

    Newb looking for advice!

Ill admit I'm new to the XS world but not new to bikes, or bobbers for that matter. Went and looked at this bike the other day... http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/mcy/4954213197.html I love the look of it, but the electrical issues worry me because I have never rewired a bike, nor do I...
