I'm pretty sure I cut about 3/16" off of it

Just shortening the shaft your new knob slides over. I just liked it tucked in a little bit. If you do decide to trim it down be careful not to put too much pressure on it. You don't want to bend it! Take your time! Also don't cut it too short!

Hey airwolfie glad you like it!! I did cut down the shaft a bit. With a hacksaw!!! Haha. I can't remember how much though...remember locktite is your friend!!

Just finished off one of these for my bike. Thinking about making more in alum and brass for bs34s. I havent set a price yet but they won't take a big chunk out of the bank. Now I have to clean up my carbs....or scuff up the new knob a little..
