    Sailing the PNW

Sure is a big undertaking, my wife used to come home from work and tell me about the "boat" they were building in their backyard, I just thought it was some sort of model for their kids to play on.

    Sailing the PNW

Good on them for having a go, will be a great adventure. One of my wife's work friends is currently sailing full time around Australia in a boat she & her husband built. This ones a bit different though.

    Moabiker's Tall Tales

IT490, ah yes, my dream bike back in the 80's. Way too powerful for my skill level though, just as well I couldn't afford one. I still love the look and sound of those big 2 strokes.:):bike:

    My 20+ year project

No shims in mine, but if the Hylomar solution does not work out I might try to source some shims or maybe try some rubber pads.

    My 20+ year project

In my post above one of the niggles I wrote about was the rear brake squealing, so after some research it seems that most of the noise comes from the pads or the pad retainers themselves vibrating. So with my ever useful tube of Hylomar I put a dab on the back of the pads and the retainers and...

    Moabiker's Tall Tales

Not sure, I offered to do it but she did not seem too keen on the idea, maybe have to talk her into it. Yep, saw that. Mate of mine had one of these, might have been a 500 though, not sure. Here's a pic of it taken in the early 80's, the KDX in the front was mine. Good time's.:):bike:

    Moabiker's Tall Tales

A few pics for you Moabite and a basic review. Fitting the kit is reasonably straightforward although I guess each bike would have it's differences. I had to shave some material off the inside of the forks to allow clearance for the larger outside diameter of the hub motor after that the wheel...

1979 sf special front brake m/c size

Yes, my original one is the same, just checked. I lead you astray with my comment above sorry, I did buy a 12mm aftermarket one but did not like the way it sat on my bars, then ended up getting the 16 mm one from Geoffs Xs in Sydney.
