    bike ran fine, changed handle bars now bike won't start. Cranks okay, spark seem really weak. Any suggestions ?

    My first bike and I'm 66 years old.

    Here is a current picture of my first bike. 1980 XS650, Rebel Shocks, Sissy Bar, Crash Bars, K+N Pods and a custom exhaust. I put my sons Heritage side covers on as mine were in bad shape. Never too old to start riding!

    Head removal ?

    Thanks for all the tips. Bike sat for 5 years before I got it. I am going put some miles on it and see what happens.

    Head removal ?

    New to the site. Just got my first bike, I'm 64 years old. It's a 1980 650 Special. It smokes on start up and then goes away. Left side only. Plug on that side is black. I think it is a valve guide, 155 compression. My question is... Do I have to remove the engine to remove the head ?
