Cleaning up a rusty rear brake drum

5T: What size of glass beads do you use? Also, do you paint the bare metal on the shoes and drums when they are all cleaned up?

I don't know what style it fits into other than my own, so I just call it "Mjölnir"

Looking good - everything except the tail light/license plate setup, which quite frankly looks like ass. Just sayin', Nutty. A subdued LED brake-light tucked up under the rear of the seat would be much better.

Welcome aboard, Kenny. I'm the real Col. Sanders.

Smuttynose Finest Kind IPA is actually one of my favorites, Marty! My son and I used to haunt one Boston Irish pub in particular, but recently we've been infatuated with the Smuttynose brewery and the tavern there. Smutty puts out some really great brews in my opinion. FWIW, I agree with you...

Speaking of specialty beers, I'm starting to gather up a collection of them. These are beers that people have gifted me or ones that I saw on the shelf and thought they might be good but changed my mind. Beers made with chipotle, or bacon and stuff like that. I'm not a fussy eater or anything...

How Can I Go Kick-Only and Protect My Bike from Theft?

Wire an airbag under the seat. A secret switch would have to be flipped in order to start it. A timed relay could be set to allow the "fast getaway" enough time to ride off. Boom! Instant karma.

    Three's a crowd?

Fuck trikes. Might as well get a convertible at that point.

    Cleaning engine parts

I personally would want every surface to be lean, clean, and pristine on my rebuild, so my answer would be yes.

Doesn't Jay Leno have one of those radial bikes? Let me see if I can find a link... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/075k7Fwui6Y" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

    Monoshock Swingarm Advice Needed

E'er the Voice of Reason, Fred! Heavier? Perhaps, but not by much. The seat tubes will be gone, and replaced by the upper triangle tubes, and I'll have one shock - not two. I have two XS400s in the shed. My plan is to build one of those with the monoshock to see if I like it...

    Honey, I shrunk the tank...

Ugh! I too get that very same image every time I see one without a rear fender - especially when they've mounted the seat with a pretty severe angle. Man, I can feel that in my balls just talking about it. :yikes::yikes::yikes:

    Monoshock Swingarm Advice Needed

This is cool. Thank you so much for the advice, and I will definitely take you up on the math part. I'm probably not going to get this project rolling for another 8-10 weeks, because that's how long I'll be in this doggone cast. :banghead:

    Monoshock Swingarm Advice Needed

Thanks, man. Looks like some trial and error will have to be employed. Do you think I'd be safe with a reservoir shock? Maybe one that has a whole mess of adjustment range?

    Monoshock Swingarm Advice Needed

Hi everyone. I'm drawing up some ideas for making a monoshock swing-arm that follows the same lines as a hardtail. Ideally, my design would include the shock attaching to the same spot on the frame that the upper tubes of a hardtail would be welded. My question is this - Does anyone offer...
