Swapped and tested everything, still no spark. Must be a brake in a wire or bad connection. Rewiring this week and will update.

So one side of coil to positive on battery, negative to ground, and he other side of coil to Pamco. Correct? This leaves the cap connected as well. Can I disconnect the cap and connect right to batter instead. Same leads?

How should I wire a battery on as well as cap? I did try to check for spark but with kick only it's hard to hold the plug grounded and kick and watch for spark at the same time. Need to get a friend over this weekend to help out. Question, if I lost compression for some reason would it just...

The other XS is a cafe build in progress with all stock electronics currently. Plans are to do the same set up in it when I work this one out.

^ thanks I put my spare(new) Reg/Rec in and still no change. I know it sounds expensive to throw new parts at the bike but I have a second XS650 that I bought all this for already, just sitting waiting to get to it when this one is fixed. So anything I test and doesn't fix will just go back...

Replaced the coil and Pamco today. No change! WTF I have a replacement Reg/Rec I'll try next. If it's not that I'll replace the Capacitor. Still open to ideas?

This may sound like a dumb question but this is my first build does the coil need to be grounded. I have mine mounted on the rear motor mount tucked under the carbs. But I am not using the mounting points on the coil just a wrap around mount I had laying around.

Wires seem fine as per pictures Im getting a reading (just had the meter set wrong) The plug cables do not come off my coil so I can not test directly at the coil. Good reading between terminals (no power connected) No reading between one terminal and one plug wire...BAD?

xjwmx, With power connected to coil of no? Just tested, either way no reading when meter set at the 200ohms setting.

I just connected a battery inline to power (coil and red from Pamco) and ground. No change.
