Hi, I need to replace my rectifer/regulator on the 1978 XS650 bike. As you can see from the image, its on its last legs. i ordered the Solid State Rectifier Regulator(Part #24-2089) from MikeXS. It has 7 wires while the current connection has only 5. I tested the output and its putting out...

I took the battery to a mechanic and it was totally dead, was just giving out enough power but not enough to even kick start....since its a small battery i have bought a charger for it. The other problem is the bike starts but after i take it off the choke, it dies.....

Well i replaced the battery and now starts after 2nd or 3rd kick but its leaking a lot of oil now from one specific area as posted in this photo...

I have posted some photos of the bike but i have big issues just getting the drain plugs to open on the bike, i cant get the bike to start now, i thought i will change the oil and clean the filter but i can get the damn thing to open no matter what i did. I also think the battry is way too...

I will post some photos tomorrow but the choke is on and its a big struggle getting the bike to start.

Hi, I just bought a 1974 XS650 but having a hard time starting the bike with the kickstart. The electric starter has been removed so it takes 10-15 tries before the bike starts. What could be the problem? I can also see that it has some oil leakage...
