    1.5" of play on kickstand post

    It's not adversely affecting my life, but after years of kick starting the bike while on the sidestand, the surfaces have worn enough so the tip of the arm has 1.5" of play.     How do you open a neutral sensor?

    Any of you fine people know the least destructive way of opening a faulty neutral sensor? Would appreciate suggestions for going in from the top - I imagine if I lever off/destroy the lower black plastic retainer then, even if I rebuild it successfully, I'll be worrying the thing fails and bits...

    Is the engine's bottom mount rod where it's weight is balanced?

    I would imagine the designers of that time, on deciding to put a mounting rod underneath somewhere, would prob run it under the engine's lateral 'pivot point', or whatever it's called. Anyone know? Maybe I've just got a little OCD.
