Update on the 78 with an 81 motor. It is done. The local shop pulled the side cover (wet side) and the clutch basket. The first gear is extremely loose and wobbly. And there is far too much gear lash when compared with a similar machine in his shop. I am divesting myself of this machine either...

Wow! No I didn't but I will. That is a perfectly good motor otherwise. And I have used the carbs from it on the '81 which made a dynamite combination. The carbs that came with the 81 are in rough shape - all caked up and have to be completely rebuilt. Thanks again.
