    Original steering damper parts

I am pretty sure my front end is stock. The bike has been imported from Australia. Maybe the specs were different there? Yes, I think I can find suitable O-rings elsewhere, so this is no major problem really. The unit's part number is 214-23490-00 btw.

    Original steering damper parts

My '75 XS650B has a steering damper attached to the bottom fork yoke. The O-ring on the rotor's shaft is leaking. Anybody knowing the part number for it? ?

    Steering wobble

When I close the throttle, the handlebars wobble at certain speeds. My bike is an XS650B, 1975. The wheels are in line. The steering head bearings are OK. The swinging arm bearings are new. The wheel bearings are OK. The tyres look OK. Anybody with the same experience?

    Slipping clutch

New springs have been ordered. The seller promises they are 10% stronger. I sanded the steel plates according to XSLeos instructions and I am sure this helped also. Next job will be getting the carbs right but that will be in another thread.

    Slipping clutch

I have now put 2mm thick washers between the springs and the nuts. There was no slipping on the test ride. Hope it stays like this.

    Slipping clutch

My 650B has a slipping clutch. It gets worse as the engine gets hot. The 7 friction plates measure from 2.97 to 3.05 mm. I don not know whether it used to slip before I bought it, I only got it recently. There is sufficient play both at the cable and the actuator arm. I use 20W50 Dyno Cat...

    Maximum permissible weight?

Thanks, Fred. I fear the Norwegian authorities share the attitude of their colleagues in the States. But I think the figure 425 kgs makes sense so I will give it a try when I present the bike tomorrow.

    Maximum permissible weight?

Unfortunately the sticker on the neck is missing.

    Maximum permissible weight?

Maximum permissible weight is the weight of the bike plus the load it was designed to carry, I think.

    Maximum permissible weight?

The registration authority needs to know what the maximum permissible weight of my 1976 XS650 is. It was imported to Norway from Australia and this information was nowhere in the bike's documents . Any ideas where I can find it?

    Let's See The XS's

Just bought this '75 from a Norwegian who has moved home from Australia. He brought the bike with him but back but he had given up making it run after a number of unsuccessful "upgrades". The wiring is a real mess so I think the best option is to replace the entire harness. The starter will turn...
