Rattling Brake Pads on std 76 xs650c

Checked the rotors were running true everything is spot on. I turned the workshop inside out today and found the pads that came fitted on the bike which I have never used. Fitted them and the rattling has gone on the move still slightly there when blipping the throttle on the stand. Now then the...

Rattling Brake Pads on std 76 xs650c

The shims don't appear to have a curve in them should they? The calipers have been rebuilt with new pistons and seals. The discs have no warpage and pad wear is even. Get this sorted it will be a lovely bike

    xs650c Clutch Spring Bolt Dilema

Didn't realise they weren't evenly spaced. Thought i had messed it up by making all the bolt shafts the same diameter. But two were binding on the inside of the springs stopping movement when operating the clutch. Hopefully it will b much better now

    xs650c Clutch Spring Bolt Dilema

Hi everyone. I upgraded the clutch thrust bearing yesterday and noticed two clutch bolts were binding inside the springs when doing up. Back apart and measured them up i had 4 with a shaft o/d of 10.5mm and 2 that were 11.5mm o/d. The springs have a i/d of 11.5mm. Thinking 2 were wrong i turned...

    Norton Commando Peashooter Silencers/ Mufflers

Hi everyone. I am fitting a pair of these to my 76c 650 as my pipes have rotted out. Wondered if anyone has had experience of jetting up for them. I am using std air filters, std headers, bs38s and currently std jets 122.5 main, 25 pilot and 4mi needle. A good starting point would be great i...

76c xs650 flat spot driving me mad

Hi. It runs fine up until 4. I just pulled the plugs and they are sooty around the base so it would appear to be running rich above 4 cos the electrode was brown which was the last half mile home. Don't know where to go from here.

76c xs650 flat spot driving me mad

Hi. The slide test was fine. Have adjusted the floats just tested it and it's still sputtering. It sputters from 4 up to about 5.5/6. It improves slightly if I feather out the throttle. It has 4mi needles on number 3, 25 pilots and 122.5 mains. The filters are dry yellow course foam. Any other...

76c xs650 flat spot driving me mad

Thanks I will try your test. I have checked them for pin holes or tears and they are in good order. The bike is a recent purchase and previously hadn't ran for years. It had pod filters on and was running very weak. I thought changing it back to std would be the easiest route. The airboxes I...
