I have a complete set of engine castings. The main case is good except for one main bearing locating pin that needs correction. They have a new heat rejecting ceramic coating done by Finishline Coatings, in Portland. With the pin corrected, these would be good to go. I also have cylinder...

    reassembly

I tore my motor completely apart two years ago. I reassembled the bottom end about a year ago so it's good but on Tuesday, I pulled all the rest of the parts out to finish assembling the top end. It didn't take long to realize that I didn't remember how it all goes together. I can assemble the...

Two orders from Mikes for valve keepers for one valve including the last order of 01-9071 that are called for a 79 model engine. Each order has been, give or take $15.00. So a total of $30.00, half of which is freight and this is how they fit.

    Mikes SX

I just got on their website for the first time, in a long time, to try and find some badly needed valve spring retainers, and it seems they are out of the engine parts business. I'm a little stumped as to where to go from here. May give 650 central a call.

If one thing makes me nervous about riding, it is being run into from behind because someone didn't see that I was stopped. I wanted to get more lights on the back of the bike without just scabbing something on. I found these new hard shell ABS bags on line for $50.00. They had single element...

    Going in style

This is the urinal in the Yamaha shop where I bought my Suzuki. The first time I saw it I asked the owner, "why the hell would you put a water feature in a bathroom?" He explained that if you stand on the foot prints that are in the stone, water starts to run out of the rocks. It is too cool I...

    splitin the cases

I have searched the thread on case splitting. What I want to know is does it really matter which case you dissemble from and reassemble into? From what I have been able to discover, it doesn't matter. I need to assemble into the top half am I going to be screwed if I try that?
