Tips on how to enhance handling performance

Minor update on the CAD/analysis for any interested parties. I've unfortunately been stupid busy with work and missed my personal deadline for this. In addition to this I just got a promotion and am moving back across the country. Hopefully I'll have a chance to get this finished up by the end...

    Pamco Pete?

It just seems like a recent rash of failures associated with recently sold units. Or I've lost track of how many threads there are by the same people on here. It almost makes me wonder if there's be a component change from one mfr to another. After all, Pete has admitted to being swamped with...

    Pamco Pete?

The repeated threads on here with issues with Pamco Pete's failure rate, and customer service have sealed the deal with me running a points ignition. At this point he might as well just include a disclaimer in all units that there's no explicitly stated or implied warranty with his products...

    First Build: 1979 Trackerthingymajiggerwhatchamacallit

You're already off to what I'd say is a great start, my post was merely just general information on why this theory makes sence. I 100% understand not wanting to spend too much time on a project so you can move on to the next. Truthfully if you really wanted to do that much work it would...

    Want to upgrade handlebar controls.

Those are probably garbage compared to rebuilt OEM. If you're that dead set on them being black I'd try to find a local anodizing outfit that could squeeze these in on their next batch. I've had valve covers for cars done for as little as $10 if I wasn't in a huge rush to get them done.

    Wanted - 70-72 Gas tank

TTT, Still looking for another tank for my next project. Won't get sticker shock with this one, show me what you've got!

    First Build: 1979 Trackerthingymajiggerwhatchamacallit

Needs more quench... Curious to see how this turns out. As I'm sure you know, it'll need different pistons to take advantage of the new chamber. *editing to leave a less vague message* Take a look at some of the higher performance/high dynamic compression ratio engines and almost all of them...

    Flat track number plate

Omar's sells one they're awfully proud of, or you can go to your local metal yard and pick up a piece of aluminum for $5 http://www.omarsfiberglass.com/#!street-tracker/c1860

Tips on how to enhance handling performance

So it turns out I did have some blueprints for the early frames as well. I may still need a couple measurements from someone here but that link you provided 2M should fill in the gaps.

Tips on how to enhance handling performance

Thanks gentlemen. I'll get to work and post my results here when they're ready. I only have a special frame at my disposal so I'll have to make the assumption that all 3 share the same wall thicknesses in the same sections.

Tips on how to enhance handling performance

I'll make sure to include stock, braced stock, tx750 and radian swingarms in my tests. In addition to basic strain I'll try post a bit on the resonance of the frame/swingarm combo. I'm still learning quite a bit on that but I'm willing to bet a few key placed braces can tune the oscillations of...

Tips on how to enhance handling performance

I actually plan to in the not too distant future model the stock frame in solidworks in order to be able to do FEA strain analysis in pursuit of performance. I'm sure it'll be some interesting results and there's no doubt going to be plenty of discussion around my results on here. This...

    Ardcore "wizard sleeze"

3rd time's the charm. Looking in other photos the bike does have forward rake.

    Ardcore "wizard sleeze"

Boom, dumped this in my CAD program to reference the rake angle compared to the lower frame tube. From what I can tell the bike has no forward rake so the lower tube should be pretty close to parallel with the ground. Not perfect, but more than close enough. *edit* Redid the drawings, it's...

    Ardcore "wizard sleeze"

Just a new website.... http://ardcorespeedandfab.com/ Photobucket is down right now otherwise I'd post a picture where I have derived (was super bored) the rake angle. It's right at about 30 degrees. In addition to this, while looking much closer at the frame I came across some new concerns. On...

    Big picture thinking...Engine question...

I wonder if an FZ-07 engine will fit in the frame....

    Ardcore "wizard sleeze"

Fred, I believe the "wizard sleeze" is a 100% new frame, not a hard tail weld on. That being said, if you have a frame you like, but the business has questionable practices or other things I find undesirable, is it worth the risk to spend the money with them? Plenty of reputable frame...

condensors capacitance & arcing at points

Awesome, thanks for the information! What I was expecting but I've never polished contacts in similar application, this might change. It's not just switches that need debounces... but that's another subject, and not even really motorcycle related, lol.

    Rear lowering kit....

So, then what's the point of changing the angle? Different motion ratio for slightly less spring and damping?
