Lost mine this weekend while riding. Got to a red light and no neutral light. I figured the LED bulb died but nope bolt fell out. Thanks for doing the leg work on this and making it easier for me to get the bolt I need!

To bring this back from the dead. Can confirm that the 2 prong flasher relay works really well on an 82 and I am working on the diodes for the instrument cluster light. Thank you for everyone's hard work on this and making it easy for me.

So update on this. The Tachometer now shows 500rpms with the engine off. When the bike is running there is no change on the tachometer. I feel a though I need to disassemble the tachometer and see what broke.

Yup wire spins on both ends and the wire speeds up and slows down with the engine while it is running. I have removed the entire wire and inspected it. I cleaned and lubed it as well.

Well drill hooked up spun and the needle doesn't go anywhere. I guess I need to disassemble the tach and see if I can fix the internals.

Oil pump is flowing oil like a charm. I spat oil all over my other bike. I will test the hand drill idea.

Battery is 3 years old, I can go get it checked but, prior to me disassembling and reassembling the stator and rotor it worked fine. I am going to check safety switches & all my connections to make sure there isn't a short anywhere.

I will grab a picture of mine later but it has a pretty good dent in the face of the slip ring and if you think it is repairable then we can go that way.
