    Wanted - XS650 in Portugal.

4000 euros is way, way overpriced. But 400 would be underpriced, given that a bare engine in the UK goes for nearly double that. I'd say 1000 Euros at the absolute max ;-)

For Sale - Triple clamps for GSXR front-end swap (offers?)

Ooh, yes, that's the right dimensions for the forks I have! I'll PM you ;-)

For Sale - Triple clamps for GSXR front-end swap (offers?)

Fantastic, thanks, I'll check the dimensions of the forks I have tonight as well ;-)

For Sale - Triple clamps for GSXR front-end swap (offers?)

Is that 50mm upper yoke bore and 52mm lower? Difficult to see the dimensions in the pics. I have a pair of K4 GSX-R forks that I'd like to fit to my XS, and if the sizes are right, I'm interested, despite being on the wrong side of the Pond... ;-)

    Clear coating

Clear powdercoat (or two pack) will be easy to maintain, but won't have the same high level of shine as professionally polished aluminium. I guess it depends on the kind of riding you plan to do - if it'll be in all weathers, go for the coating, if it's in dry weather only and you like to have a...

Reinforcing gussets on early XS1/XS1B engine cases

Interesting... do those gussets give a stronger set of cases and, if so, why were they discontinued?

Mike`s XS & Dime City Cycles

I'm also a little intimidated by Hugh's CDI price, and besides, it seems that they seem to be currently unavailable anyway.. (or, at least, they are whenever I look on his website)

    Slow burner...

The paperwork side of things looks like it could be a bit easier than I thought. Regulations here in the UK dictate that bikes of over 40 years of age have a somewhat easier time, in that they don't have to have the yearly MoT examination, and don't have to pay road tax either. In addition, it...

    Slow burner...

After looking into the paperwork side of things, I think I'll need to mock it up into a stand-looking bike in order to be able to get a registration document. When I say 'standard-looking', it'll not have to look like the original XS, but like a 'normal' bike - ie rear suspension, mudguards etc...

    I WAS WONDERING

Dan - please do a build thread regardless of your build's pace! It'll help to inspire others (and yourself!) to Do Work!

    Sold / Found / Inactive - GONE

I bought a frame, engine and swinging arm for £500 (so about $660 US), and that was considered a bargain!

    2 into 1 intake manifold

I've just been looking for it Gary... not found it yet, but will let you know when I do ;-)

    Sold / Found / Inactive - GONE

Wow, compared to the prices here in the UK that's really, really cheap!

    2 into 1 intake manifold

He's had some time away and had a workshop move, but is due to be up and running again around about now! I have an email address for him somewhere, but I think the Greendsands Foundry name still stands ;-)

Lovely stance to that! Great work!

I managed to source a cover at a reasonable price, from a chap in the US - worked out far cheaper to buy and have sent across the Pond than buying a cover here in the UK.

    I WAS WONDERING

Nighthog - I was there too, just one XS that I saw, flat tracker style. Cadwell is just a spit away from me, so if you're going next year? I'm hoping that I will be racing by then, albeit not on my XS...

    I WAS WONDERING

Slim, but not impossible. But then I've yet to met anyone with an XS close to me here in mid-Lincs...

With the new (to me) wheel I also got a spare hub, brake plate, a lot of oil seals (something around the head, apparently, I need to check the part number to be sure) and the smallest oil filter I have ever seen in my life!
