I have a tx650 engine that has good compression but is missing the points covers and the majority of the points components, it has the compression release on it which from what I have read makes it a 73 if im not mistaken, I also have a front end minus the top clamp I have a set of mag wheels...

that link doesn't work. but from what I am getting from him is the green wire coming from the pamco is 12v all the time. the way I understand this is the green should alternate between 12v and 0v am I right ? if it is not alternating would that mean the pamco its self is bad ?

hey thanks for the advice, as I said before I have far more experience in the automotive world and specifically late model stuff so these bikes are a constant learning adventure. but I wouldn't trade it for any other hobby, Im just glad there is a great community here willing to help when they can.

update so last night I put everything back together and used one of my optima car batteries as the one for the bike is dead and I didn't want to wait around for a day for it to trickle charge. with it all together I did the test on the rotor with the feeler gauge and it snaps right over to it...
