Ball park figure for a professional paint job ?

First, I am totally humbled by the thought that my painting skills were all that great, that is my XS1b tank in the top of this tread. Most importantly, I am a total amateur, did that paint job in a shed with rattle cans. Cost was about US$300 in supplies, only because I screwed up on the 2k...

Maybe then you can tell me if there is a web in the casting that crosses the opening where the timing chain goes.

    Vapor Blasting Prices

Seems this post has gone the way of “build your own”, for what it’s worth I paid $160 for vapor blasting the cylinder, head and cover, Cash, seemed like a good deal to me.

    Look what followed me home

But still.... $500 ain’t bad and with a title? Mine was $1200 and no title. Risky at best, but worked out okay.

so here’s what I started with, kind of looks like a ‘72, but in the end was a ‘71 with a few missed match parts over the years. Point is, check carefully your numbers.

    Look what followed me home

Maybe I’m reading this thread wrong, but I don’t think this is a ‘71? But a good by for $500 and well worth the effort.

Xs1 front drum brake rebuild help? Link rod

I have an XS1b, I think it’s the same, to secure the pin it uses a cotter pin with a washer underneath. Which means you need to put a washer on the small end of the pin after fitted and then drill a hole for a cotter pin. Tried to get a pic , but not so easy to see once fitted.

    Homemade and Unique Tools

The best funnel I can think of for an xs, fits near perfectly to the treads of the dip stick opening, even 2 liter bottles works.

The little pins that the float bowls pivot on?

I have some brass 2.5 mm rod I used in my early BS38 carbs, I think it’s the same for yours. I would be happy to throw a piece in snail mail if you want.

When I was a young man I had two very close friends, one with an old pickup truck the other with an H2. Together we like to take the H2 to the local drag strip, were able to turn in the low 10's. One Sunday afternoon we all decided to get together to work on the bike. Friend in the truck headed...
