    Engine Gasket Leak....help needed!

When re-torquing I guess there is no 'pattern' in which to follow (probably a silly question)....

    Engine Gasket Leak....help needed!

I'm happy to not worry about the new washers if that's cool because they are a pain in the butt to get hold of..... (thank you Meddy though).....

    Engine Gasket Leak....help needed!

Ok, the points housing is 100% clean of oil. Oil was definitely coming from that gasket. I have been busy searching the site for info, I found this written by yourself: "I pull the 8 large acorns, one at a time, clean if need be, anti-seize, then torque up to 25. When all 8 have had that done...

    Engine Gasket Leak....help needed!

Guys I need a little help please!!! Took the XS for it's first short ride yesterday, I noticed a small dribble of oil from the gasket in the photo, just below the plug - which gasket is this? Once I know this I can look to hopefully re-torque, if there is any advice on this would be superb...

    Tuning.....Where the hek to start!

Good info as always. Ah ha, now I remember, these little flat headed jets are the ones I couldn't get out when I had the carbs apart. I think I ended up blowing them out with carb cleaner. I will try again to remove them with a good fitting ground screwdriver and report back......

    Tuning.....Where the hek to start!

Guys Hope you are all well!! Ok so I've been off here for a few weeks....but had to come back because I miss you :-) Now the weather is perking up a little I've been firing up the bike getting ready for a proper test ride. Upon firing it up (from cold) it is running really badly, popping...

Will do.....one think I will need to do is TIG a brace to the numberplate bracket as it vibrates all over the place. Another thing that hit me is how small these are, I'm 6'2" and dwarf it! Kinda reminds me the Harley 48 I had last year. Think this would be suited for short blasts around...

I'm not sure these are made by but they were pretty cheap....Chinese I think......easily found on ebay, I see a lot of the custom bike builders seem to use them.

    Ktm anyone???

I had the KTM Superduke....the 1000cc version, awesome bike but a one trick pony. I know a few others who have owned them and say the same, people don't tend to own them long. Blistering fast but no wind protection (useless for tourning) and a motor which you will either love or hate. I took...

Will electric vehicles doom your neighborhood auto mechanic?

Either way, it looks like the company I work for are going to get me out of my year old BMW next year and put me into a hybrid...huge savings in fuel and tax for them and huge savings for me in company car tax as the CO2 emissions are so much lower. Only downside is the P11d value is much higher...
