    Painting Tins. No really...

I test rode a '21 Speedmaster this summer and it was a lot of fun to ride. Smooth and comfortable. Wouldn't call it "nimble" but I wasn't expecting that anyway, just a nice cruise with ample power.

    Cool 2 stroke Yamaha

You should be able to plow the farm with a 400cc 2-stroke! A well-running Maico 490 will plow an acre in about 10 minutes.

What have you done to your XS today?

If we didn't have other priorities like appliances, furniture, roof cleaning, new ironing board, more shoes, and whatever else is above "garage" on her the list I would definitely want to have it painted. I'm just happy with the space for now. My project for the weekend is to figure out the...

    2021 Barber Vintage Fest

Wives are weird. They don't seem to understand the importance of keeping important things like motorcycles, motorcycle parts, guitars, amps, speaker cabinets, motorcycle magazines that were printed the same year as our bikes. Since when did it become necessary to have 87 pairs of shoes and...

What have you done to your XS today?

It’s not what I’ve done to my XS, it’s what I’m gonna do to it. The Future Mrs. and I finally started moving into our new home. For once in my life I’ll have space for all my motorcycles without them being stacked on top of each other, AND I’ll have room to walk around and work on things. Can’t...

    1971 Build for Dad

@5twins, someday you should write a book with all of these tech tips. Every time I read one I tell myself "I gotta remember that one!" Only trouble is there are so many of them!! When I eventually get around to rebuilding my top end and clutch I'm gonna be spending about a week trying to find...

    New Rotor

On my '80 SG the voltage at 3,000 RPM and higher is 14.3 - 14.5 volts. At idle it drops down to 11.8 - 12 volts.

    Miss November XS2 tribute

The Future Mrs. has 26,311 pairs of shoes. Because you might need a dark blue pair (which is different from the other 368 dark blue pairs you also have) for when it rains on a Wednesday between 1:30pm and 2:45 pm and you're wearing your black pants and grey top, but you don't have a jacket...

    Unknowns When Riding Known Roads

The slower you go the more time you have to react to things and the more likely you are to survive a get-off or an impact with something. I'm happiest in the 35-45 mph zone. I dress for the crash, not the ride, and always keep my face shield down unless I'm stopped at a light. I've had a lot of...

Pet Peeves - Motorcycle, equipment and tool related

Looking for "that one tool" only to find your kid has modified it to do something it was never intended to do because he's "working on a project", and now it no longer does what it was originally intended to do. :cussing:

Save yourself some trouble and get the resistor plug BP7RES and non-resistor caps. @5twins has posted several times regarding this. I made the switch a couple months ago and no issues.
