    clutch wont engage

    I agree with Daddyg take it apart clean it put it back together. I'm an Idiot aand I did it in about an hour. Same problem, now works like new.

    thanks guys for all the help. I pulled it apart last night cleaned put it back together and aligned the pressure plate and the damn thing works like new.

    Thanks got it off. Man it was in there way tighter then It should have been. I think this is what was causing the problem. Plates where all stuck and nothing was moving plus the springs where all at different heights. Looks like someone just sorta slapped it back together without knowing what...

    I have removed the Phillips head screws and springs and can not get clutch plate cover off, Is there some trick to getting off that I can find. thanks pete

    I have since been able to talk to a couple of pro welder guys. They laughed at me when I asked them about mig and tig for motorcycle welding. They both said there isn't a piece of steel on a bike that you can't properly weld with a mig welder

    Cam Chain Tension

    After taking off the tensioner cover and adjusting the chain when putting the cover back on it disintergrated (1974 TX ). What is the best way replace it?

    My welder has both flux and argon capability. I was always told that you can't get the same penetration with argon. But your right everytime I weld with the flux it takes forever to clean it up.

    I'm and Idiot. From all the screwing around i have done with air/fuel mix I fouled out a plug. It idled really good on 1 cylinder.

    I have a 1974 TX idles perfect runs up to mid perfect will not come on past 40 mph. I suspect a timing advance problem but I'm not sure. If someone could point me in the right direction before I rip everything apart that would be great. thanks pete

    I have a 1974 TX I have removed the stock bars for drag bars, The stock cables are way to long I can't seem to find out what cables will be the right length (about 40") Will stock cables work from a different year when the stock bars had way less rise work. thanks pete
