Cone Engineering MC-CAN175300-SS, Which Header -> Muffler fastening system to use?

Hi, I've got 1.750" Stainless steel exhaust with EPO/TPO's from 650 Central (modified https://www.mikesxs.net/product/07-0758.html) I'm looking to use 2 of the Cone Engineering MC-CAN175300-SS "Stubbie Can Muffler" (http://www.coneeng.com/pdf/motorcycle/MC-finished-Mufflers.pdf) In...

Need picture of hidden electrical boxes for inspiration?

Bent / Riveted aluminum sheet metal. Battery is gone and now there is a Capacitor mounted on the bottom. The R/R is mounted on the bottom as close to the capacitor as possible. Key switch is mounted in a gusset just tucked behind the sidecover (when the sidecover is on).

    XS650B : Sidecovers, 2000 SV650 Front End swap

Dude, it's like....0 outside :) When it gets over 50 outside I can finish the install of the EX500 carburetors, get the extra tank + side covers out to paint. Honestly, I'm working hard on designing a steering damper using my Printrbot Simple + Investment casting some mounts to the headstock.

    XS650B : Sidecovers, 2000 SV650 Front End swap

Regarding discs, that 2007 r6 has 310mm discs. Lots of Honda / aprilia options there.

    XS650B : Sidecovers, 2000 SV650 Front End swap

I had to have the XS650 bolt pattern machined into the Sv650 discs. The Sv650 pattern remains as well, which is a little gangster, but will work just fine. I welded up a set, but they cupped and ruined the disc mounting faces.

    buildin' me a tracker

Amazing, hose clamp. That's perfect. Seriously. I'd guess you make some witness marks to get the axial orientation correct. Then you can remove the hose clamped assembly to your welding supplier. Is there an easier / better way? Seriously, awesome.

    SWINGARM

Is that a GSXR/Hayabusa/SV front wheel on the rear? No room left for the Rear brake? Looks good.

Charging system comparo. Whats the best?

Replacing 45-28 year old brushed electronics is a positive.

Any interest in another swingarm option for the XS650?

It sounds interesting. If I were to Spend $300-$325 on an aluminum Swingarm, I'd want the following features: Specifiable Length, +25mm, +50mm, +100mm, etc (+$/mm) Shock mount options, Clevis or Tab Shock mount options, Length from Swingarm Pivot deviation from OEM Comes with Swingarm...

What have you done to your XS today?

Got my EX-500 CVK Carb components almost all sourced. Went and sourced some 1/16" E-clips from Ace Hardware to hold the PWK-GJH needles. Today I'll be receiving a substantial McMaster-Carr order to tidy up some hardware, finish off the CVK's with new screws, do a bench sync + wild guess at...

Ninja EX500 carbs on an XS650?

Double sold. I have a set of 1999 EX-500 carbs en route. I bought them by posting a Want To Buy at http://www.ex-500.com A couple of days and $60 later, on the way! I still have to source the remaining components, but they can all be bought new. Shouldn't be a problem. I'll probably be right...

Neat tip with the Power Brake valve. Makes sense.

Ninja EX500 carbs on an XS650?

Sounds good. If I need to get cables made, I'll just use a SV650 throttle housing/R6 tube! That way it looks "right" mounted next to my SV650 Master cylinder on my SV650 front end!

Ninja EX500 carbs on an XS650?

I have become incredibly intrigued with doing the EX500 Swap. I stand to do some tuning on my cleaned / throttle seal replaced BS38's now that I've got everything together. It's running way too rich at idle, which can be fixed. But I would rather upgrade/replace with newer components. The...

Rust removal from inside gas tank

I'm keeping it full of fuel. Doing just fine at 2+ months. Honestly I'll probably clean it out every year before bringing it out of storage. Simple, not messy, and had made this lightly rusted tank neatly brand new inside.

    Homemade side covers

Hi, I'm using a 0.8Ah battery (small) so it's mounted under the seat and on top of my electronics tray. I haven't Kitty hair / bondo / etc the side covers yet. But you cannot see electronics from the sidecovers. Everything is hidden nicely.

Hopefully new 75 XS650b owner...Need new buyer help (have pics)

I bought a XS650B for $1000 2 years ago. About as cosmetically clean as yours, one start kick (electric starter would have needed a fix). 100% complete except for the PO making some bars from Iron pipe. $1900 for that example seems doable. I'd personally offer $1500 and go from there.
