    XS650 Craigslist postings depository

I went and looked at it. It's in good but not great shape. It does have the nice wheels. Started first kick and was hitting on both cylinders. Cosmetically it's it's a survivor. With some TLC could make a very good daily rider. If you wanted to do a restore a big plus is it's all there. No parts...

    Buying second bike for parts

What do you mean by rebuilding it? All original daily rider, resto-mod or something else? Take a good look at your bike, are there parts missing if so which ones. Most parts on it are 70-72 only but not all some 70-71 parts will not work, some 73 parts will also work. Best thing to do is start...

    Fuel Petcock Screws

I've been using copper washers with button head screws on my XS2 for 5 years now without a leak. Also have used them on other tanks without any problems. I would be leery of using something made for sealing water in a fuel application. The factory paint on the tanks doesn't seem to have any...

For Sale - Yamaha XS2/XS650 Front End, Wheel, Forks, Triple Tree

Not a 72 triple tree. 72 did not have a pinch bolt on the top tree and used only 1 bolt on the bottom tree. The fork legs are not 72. 72s did not have caliper mounts on the left fork leg. Also the calipers on yours mount behind the legs instead of in front. If they are 34mm tubes what you have...

Insurance - cost of use. 💸💸💸

That's a nice theory but there is a catch. What happens if you let someone else take your bike for a ride? You as the owner will bare some responsibility(liability) no matter what they have for personal insurance.

If you put your foot in it that's all that was going to happen. It's not just about how much HP you make. It's about how much you can hook up and put on the ground.

My first foray into not just one but two 1975 RD350's

Thanks. The Kawi engines had a rubber seal. It would go bad and have to be replaced.

My first foray into not just one but two 1975 RD350's

I have a question. I'm not at all well versed on multi-cylinder 2 strokes. I have always thought they all had a "center seal" in the crank to keep the cylinders isolated from each other. I know the Kawasaki motors in Arctic Cat snowmobiles did, if it leaked the engines ran very erratic. He put...

Mailman rides to Skull Valley Arizona 💀 a beautiful place with a murderous history.

How could you not have a hot dog in a place called Skull Valley? Great pics! Only way they could be better is if they had a XS650 in them.:poke:

    Tracker Extraordinaire rescue

What I did as remove the 8 head nuts, 4 cover bolts and took the cover off. Do not loosen the 3 remaining small bolts. I did not replace the head gasket. Worked out for me.
