Going to make my life easy and use belzona to block the cross over holes. Just need to remember I may lose one cylinder before the other when low on fuel.

I guess its only to help with even delivery when the tank is low. my bike has 2 petcocks (one per carb) plus a cross over. like the photo at the top. No T fittings, just a line between the carbs. The plastic 90deg fittings are a bit past its best so just going to get rid of it.

What is the point of this cross over? Thinking of just blocking it up.

Rebuild complete for now with a customer leather seat. Very happy with how it’s turned out.

Here is my 72 enjoying the Spanish sun for the winter. Over 2 years work bring it back to life with a little help from this form. Only done about 120km on it. Still got a few bugs sort out. Hope to ride it back to the uk in the new year.

This pretty well describes it. I had set my bike a little retarted on the advice of posts here. Maybe it was to much. I have now set it a little more advance. This seems to have improved it. Will fix my strob soon so I can get a proper reading on it. Thanks for you help.

I thought it was set right, but I will check. I was suspicious of the auto advance doing silly things but desired my strob was giving some bad readings. I need to fix a bad cable .

Just got my bike on the road. It seems to be running ok on a few very short shake down runs. However it back fires through the carb sometimes when I kick start or more often when it stalls. I’m a bit stuck for ideas why, because it seems to be ok when it’s running. Any ideas?

Had a few issues with the bike so only just got it running again (lose carb throttle valve screw into engine :( Found a volt meter to fits nice.

Update. Had my bike running for the first time probably. At just over idle I was getting about 14v so I’m happy for now. Will need more testing.

I’m getting to the final stages of my build, so I need to do something about the seat. I have a kangaroo hide I intend to use. Almost all bench style seat have ribs stitched into them. I assume this is partly to give grip to the rider. How necessary is this? My leather has marks and scars of...

5twins sadly no good auto stores near me. Will try a local hydraulic place but don’t think they will have anything that small. Think what I’m after is SAE flare metric to metric female. Might have to get the drill out.

Thanks Twomany, Looking fwd to getting it running so I can see what it dose. I don’t have space visible voltmeter so I am on the look out for a small switch to trigger a warning light at about 14.9v

Waiting for my tank to get back from the painters and I also need to finish marking alamuinum box for electrics before I can test it out . Will let you know in a few weeks .
