    Aftermarket charge rotors

Well I got the used OEM rotor off another 77 that tests good and cleaned the rings up. So hopefully I'll have time to get it in this weekend and see if it holds out.

    Aftermarket charge rotors

That's the plan if this used OEM doesnt work. I'll send the unit in for refurb. Might send it in over winter even if it does work out just to know its 100%. Reg/rec should be good, new units from the guy at Oregon motorcycle parts. Maybe 3-4 hours total run time on them

    Aftermarket charge rotors

    I had put the charger on about 40 minutes ago so I think my beginning voltage was a false high. Key off 12.9 1: 12.50 2: 12.45 3: 12.41 4: 12.37 5: 12.34 Recovered to 12.60 after key off

    Aftermarket charge rotors

12.4 light off, drops to about 12 flat light. Losing 10th of a volt every few seconds, battery also hasn't been on the tender in a while. 11.96 with high beam

    Aftermarket charge rotors

I've been through 4 of them now. First 3 popped within the first 10 minutes of running the bike with the headlight on. Only difference between the first 3 and the 4th was I rode the bike 95% of the time with the headlight off, that's what makes me think its something within that system. Unless...

    Aftermarket charge rotors

Bringing this back up. Bike sat for a good bit while I worked on more important things. Got a new rotor in and everything seemed fine. Went on a fairly decent daytime ride and volts held fine. However it was towards the evening when things went bad again. About 5 minutes into me turning the...

    Aftermarket charge rotors

Got my new rotor in. Thinking volt drop is the issue. When the battery is registering 12.50 the brush is showing 11.39. I've cleaned my ignition switch and the connections in the headlight bucket. Must be the the wire running from the switch to the brush. Going to trace it and see if there are...

    Aftermarket charge rotors

All connections have either been replaced or thoroughly cleaned. New brushes, regulator, rectifier and battery all with less than 2 hours total run time. Stator checked out good with a meter. I have not greased any connections

    Aftermarket charge rotors

They are going to thoroughly inspect a new unit and ship it out to me. Lets hope the 3rd time around is good. If not I think I'll source a good used rotor and see how that goes.

    Aftermarket charge rotors

Anyone have experience with aftermarket charging rotors? Bought one from ricks motorsport electrical, went out within 30 minutes after install. Sent it in for warranty replacement, new one came yesterday and I got maybe an hour ride before it quit working. Worked fine from the start. Good ohms...

What's everyone paying for mount and balance?

Free, from my local shop if you buy the tires through him. And he'll usually match online prices.

Back on its wheels. Waiting for a few more parts and I should be able to give it a test ride around the neighborhood

    Battery/charging issues

I have finally put my bike back together with all new charging components with the exception of the stator and a used rd400 rectifier. Running a vr115 regulator, new rotor and brushes. However it doesn't appear I am charging. I am confident the battery is shot though. When I have a meter on it I...
