    Let's See The XS's

Hey guys, got my first bike 4 years ago, a nice 77 tracker style. Had lots of ups and down but loved riding it. Came time to upgrade and came across a deal on a 2021 Enfield I couldn't pass up. Now it sits patiently waiting for the next ride. Really appreciate all of the help over those years.

    Wanted - Need tachometer

Hey guys, have a 77D and looking for a tachometer replacement, since apparently i can't take the cover off and replace the missing screws. I can take the set off your hands to avoid breaking it up, if necessary. Thanks, James This is my version, apparently the "special".

    Petcock position

Ok, so you are saying the lever is the marker. He was looking at it as the shaft, like an arrow. I know some petcocks have a little arrow to show direction, which mine does not have.

    Petcock position

Sorry, forgot to include my reason, which is to determine on or reserve.

    Petcock position

During a maintenance session, my mechanic brought up a question I had never thought of. On a single petcock, does the stem mark what position you are using, or does the stub "point" to it like an arrow? Trying to determine which way is on or reserve, as there is no arrow stamp present, and i...

    Tuning help needed

I know, have seen many different posts against that ignition. My current pilots are 20, down from 22.5. I missed that from 5twins and most of my research and un-education about backfiring through the carb led me to believe if all of the fuel is not combusting early, maybe smaller pilots will...

The mike's xscharge e-edvancer model. when i checked both sides with timing light it was consistent, so i assume it was working properly.

    Tuning help needed

We had done those things back in December, but not in the last few weeks. guess the reason I sound so puzzled is i rode it fine with the 185 mains, and only problem was the engine sputtering after 3500. When i changed to 180 is when the current carb problem started, but the function of the bike...

    Tuning help needed

I had that a few times last year before i got my new ignition and timing straightened out. Any help on what to look at first with the backfiring through the carb problem? Right now that is my biggest problem and I just don't want to keep going around in circles because i am doing something out...

    Tuning help needed

Ok, started from scratch today, just an idle test. After warming up and a few spits, changed plugs and ran 2 new tests with the air filters totally off, each one five minutes at 13-1500 rpms. Ran at a nice idle, but Air screw at 1 1/2 turns and 1 turn no change, still backfiring about every 45...

    Tuning help needed

Thanks 5twins, i will try the plug change and air screw removal tomorrow. In the meantime, my biggest concern is trying to sort out the cause of the backfire through the left carb. After i tried several air screw adjustments to no avail, i changed out to a 20 pilot to cut down on fuel going into...

    Tuning help needed

I had read the plug problem was most likely rich, but at the same time the backfire through the carbs is supposed to be lean. That is why i was hoping there might be some sort of middle ground solution i was missing.
