I spoke with Gina from Boyer, and she suggested the KIT00303 which comes with the mini dual output coil I am still going to try to ride the bike a bit more once riding season is back here in a few more monthes, but keep this idea on the back burner thank you all again for your help!

gggGary and Jim, here are pics of the cam and it appears I have the advance rod as well as bronze bushing in there. I also double checked the cable as per stanleyipkis and it looks ok to me ... I did notice however the way the cable is routed is pretty darn close to the chain ... normal?

Thank you all for the replies! much appreciated! gggGary - are you saying that the tytronic solution you posted above can replace this monstrosity? Jim - the red thing as far as I can best tell is a re-purposed brake pad plate that is helping hold the pickups in place
