What would it take to get the front wheel off the ground?

A bigger rear sprocket was along the ideas of what I was thinking. how big are we talking about? I guess to a certain degree, any sprocket would work, just depends on the ease of it....

What would it take to get the front wheel off the ground?

Was hanging out with a buddy and came across one of the old motorcycle mania's that the discovery channel use to do way back when. Was watching this scene where jesse james was able to get his front wheel off the ground about a foot when hes riding, not really a full wheelie. start at the...

So i've got it setup now, and its running, almost. I can't seem to get the stock horn button to work. But i did get the horn itself to go off. i need to figure out how to get the pink ground wire to function with the button and connect to the frame. is their a horn button schmatic anywhere?

Do I really need a relay for a after market horn?

no that always helps to refresh. I think my best bet would be to test the relay and see how it is, maybe with the original stock horn i had. if that doesn't work then switch it out and try the wiring all over again. what i'm wondering though, is that i think i see my horn button only having...

Do I really need a relay for a after market horn?

I bought a used wolo "bad boy" horn off of craigslist. Its your basic compact horn, but still very loud. I spent a good hour trying to wire it up, followed the directions on wolo's website. After a ton of profanity I could not get it to work, just for the heck of it i hooked the battery directly...

Carb mix screws go in farther than each other?

a little update. I took apart my crabs, found that i had a diaphragm tear that i believed was the cause of most of my issues. As for the carb screws. for some reason the thread in the right mix screws don't start at the opening, it looks like it starts about a half centimeter down.

Carb mix screws go in farther than each other?

My bike is a 1980 xs650. I was working on the carbs today, specifically the fuel mix screws on top. I know they are supposed to be synced together, but something was weird. My left carbs mix screw was fine, and when it screwed in all the way it would be flushed with the screw hole. However the...

Right exhaust only gets warm? Horrible acceleration.

UPDATE: So the deep socket I have that i thought fit the spark plug is a tad to small. Went to my local hardware shop to find out that their sold out of the one i need. I'll have to make a longer trip out later when I have more time. What i've found though on this short trip is a few things...

Right exhaust only gets warm? Horrible acceleration.

Thanks everyone for the help. Here's what I'm wondering. Are these 2 problems independent of each other? Some of you are saying it could be as bad as a spark plug, which might fix the problem; but would it fix the fuel issue with the float? While on the opposite side, I could see the float...

Right exhaust only gets warm? Horrible acceleration.

My bikes a 1980. I've had some trouble with acceleration the last few weeks. The bike struggles to speed up, at times I almost don't know if it"ll make it up a steep hill, even with my hand holding the throttle wide open. So I cleaned up my carbs a bit, and got a brand new battery. When I was...

135 main jet. How many turns? 1980

I think I'm going to be in those same shoes. The more I do research and the more I route out the issue, I'm starting to think that my problem is more with the electrical issue and. Of the carbs. Thank you, that's what I was really looking for. I had a feeling that I was looking at the wrong...

135 main jet. How many turns? 1980

Alright, so its the pilot that will be 3 - 3 1/2 out. Not the the main? In that case, it would be alright just to the screw the main jet screw in all the way? to no specific tightness, just enough for it to stay in/put.

Grainy stuff coming out my tank?

Update. Washed the tank out, and man the stuff that came out looked nasty. Some odd grainy bits inside, not sure what it was. But I cleaned out the inside multiple times, to the point where the water that was coming out was clear and clean. I've laid it out to dry, now i just wait....

135 main jet. How many turns? 1980

Trying to figure this out, read my chylmer manual but I think its throwing me off. my bike is a 1980, my main jet screw says 135. I'm running pod filters, and a stock exhaust with no baffle. I've looked and I think I'm just getting turned around and around. i would definitely appreciate a...
