    TCI Replacement 2020 It Works

Holy hell, I missed the action! I was watching this thread like two weeks ago and you all had me convinced it was going to work. And now I hope there’s still a unit or two I could try out myself! You guys are awesome. Great discovery, and fine work for sure!

    Bike won't rev above 5000rpm

To me, that sounds like some more carb tuning will help clear up the low end a little bit. If it gets up past 5k smoothly now, and idles well, but bogs when trying to accelerate at low rpm, i think you can play with needle height and maybe different slides to help with this. I’m no carb expert...

    Bike won't rev above 5000rpm

Yes, I believe that a free flowing exhaust would affect how the carbs need to be jetted. And like bushyeyed1 said about the fuel cap, if it is not properly vented then it can cause problems. And when you adjusted the timing, were you able to see the timing advance when you revved up the engine?

    Bike won't rev above 5000rpm

So you said you reset timing, what did you do exactly? And could you see that the timing was advancing when you revved the engine? I’m not sure at what rpm the engine should have full advance, but if you see full advance when you are revving then i would think that fuel delivery is an issue...

    Bike won't rev above 5000rpm

Interesting. Does it react differently if you go farther than 25% throttle? And are you using stock CV carbs? And just to get more info, what year is the bike? I’m curious if it is electronic ignition or points.

Bad batch of xscharge Trigger plates and rotors from mikesxs

Yeah i’ll do some more digging this weekend, but i feel like i might have tested everything i could. The coil tested good for resistance, and worked with the tci system. Something that seems wrong to me is the voltage at the trigger plate. I’m getting 5v to the Red terminal at the trigger...

Bad batch of xscharge Trigger plates and rotors from mikesxs

Very interesting. I’ve thought about getting the standard unit and using the weight advances. Maybe i will get one and try it out. And you said i might be having other issues, After my first install with no spark, i tried to isolate the ignition system so nothing would interfere but it did...

Bad batch of xscharge Trigger plates and rotors from mikesxs

hey guys, I just received a new trigger plate and e advancer from mikes and it still won’t work. This is the second trigger plate and advancer i have tried and now i’m beginning to think i have no business touching electronics haha. You guys think they are still shipping out the bad batch parts??

    Pamco

here’s my experience with the xscharge kit. I got one of the xscharge kits for a ‘79 around Sept ‘19, installed it and got one flame out of the exhaust and then nothing. I have 12v at the coil, good ground, 5v at the trigger plate, but when you rotate the shaft (or engine) the green wire goes...
