Sold / Found / Inactive - New Tires: Shinko E804 (front) and Heidenau K60 (rear) set

@puftas Hey. They rode well. I was mostly city (under 55mph 90% of time) and enjoyed their ruggedness on our sometimes beat up Minnesota streets. But they also rolled nice on highways or smooth pavement. I will say they don’t like hard turns or wetness on pavement as much as traditional tires...

Sold / Found / Inactive - New Tires: Shinko E804 (front) and Heidenau K60 (rear) set

For anyone's future reference on shipping tires: Cost was ~$57 for the set from MN to CO via UPS Ground... Included a discount for buying label online vs in-store, and I have a shipper account for another little discount Included a $5 "Peak Fee" from them, I guess because we're sort of in a...

Sold / Found / Inactive - New Tires: Shinko E804 (front) and Heidenau K60 (rear) set

Also, they would come shipped as shown - this is how they were shipped to me (and how I assume all tires are shipped in general as a box/bag seems futile for a product designed to withstand thousands of miles on the road in the elements).

Sold / Found / Inactive - New Tires: Shinko E804 (front) and Heidenau K60 (rear) set

I have a set of tires for anyone looking for a set of scrambler/dual sport rubber. I put these exact tires on my build. The tire vendor sent me two sets of each and didn't want the extras back, so I'm looking to move the extra set on to someone who can use them. • Front Tire: Shinko E804...

    LastTracker Build Thread

Amazing work to see. Apparently you and I mean different things when we use the phrase “build thread” as you literally build bikes. And here I thought making a fiberglass seat pan was cool.

I’d suggest stop looking for heroes and go be your own.

    My Build: A Pandemic Project

Based upon current social trends being pushed by media and politicians alike, everyone is a hero these days. The world needs less of them, in my opinion.

    My Build: A Pandemic Project

I assume I wouldn't have if it's how you describe being a showroom bike. I found a bike under budget that looked like many other XS650's I saw while searching - finding a stock bike doesn't seem tough. It was all there, but needed work everywhere as well, except the engine which was solid (the...

    My Build: A Pandemic Project

Updated post #10 with hyperlinks to parts used by vendor used...hopefully it helps someone track down an item to help them see options out there.

Upset? No. But I also think these forums do better when critical feedback serves a purpose (i.e. "you should have tried doing X instead of what you did, would have looked so cool"). You want to pointlessly complain about bikes being modified, start a thread on that and complain to your heart's...

    My Build: A Pandemic Project

@Paul Sutton Oh absolutely. If I had the support system those guys had - support vehicles, unlimited budget, and behind-the-scenes State Dept connections to make sure they aren't murdered - I would consider a major trip with a buddy in the developing world. But in reality, I'm happy to stick to...

    My Build: A Pandemic Project

Thanks man. Nothing on the books yet. Just been watching your countryman's documentaries/series about around the world motorcycle travel (Long Way Around...Down...Up). I think that means I need an adventure before another project.

    My Build: A Pandemic Project

@xjwmx Well whining like a bitch isn't going to change the fact that you're welcome to save every bike you want, but I took a bike that was sitting, turned it into a daily driver, enjoyed the project immensely, found a buyer who appreciated my efforts, and in the end had a summer of learning and...

    My Build: A Pandemic Project

Thanks man. Yeah, it seems only right to share any experience or knowledge I gained after the hours I spent on here troubleshooting. I think the favorite part of my build was all of my buddy’s neighbors who would hang out in the alley this summer watching me work on the bike - everyone was home...

    My Build: A Pandemic Project

Thanks for the note. The buyer in Japan owns a bike shop outside Tokyo, so unsure if it’s for him or a customer he has in mind. But he was a nice guy to work with, so I’m happy it’s heading his way. At this point, no next project. In 2018, I overhauled an 80 series Land Cruiser (which I did a...

    My Build: A Pandemic Project

Yeah, had I not got my hands on it I bet a purist would have been quite happy to take it home. Basically just needed a seat and bars to make stock.

And here she is this week getting shipped out to Japan - where the buyer is located (sold on eBay). Amazing project, and it was great to have it culminate with an international sale as the cherry on top. And for anyone wondering: I basically broke even. I don't do this as a side hustle or...
