    Let's See The XS's

Not a good picture, not an exciting location, just happy to get my bike back on the road for the first time this year! Turns out toddlers are expensive, so I haven't insured the bike at all this year. Hoping for a few weeks of riding before it goes away for winter.

    Let's See The XS's

Nothing exciting about the location or photo, but I just got my bike back on the rode and took it to work today! Incredibly happy about that.

Alright, the bike lives! Got a new cam shaft in from kshansen yesterday and just finished getting it installed. Rode around my driveway a few times, everything feels great. Now just need to pop insurance on it tomorrow and will go for a ride. This was a learning lesson in how not doing a...

Sold / Found / Inactive - 81 Special Rear Brake Camshaft

Ended up grabbing the linked drum off ebay and am also getting kshasens. Seeing as this part is a bit of a pain in the butt to get, may as well have some backup parts just in case. Or at least have one in case some other Canadian is looking for one down the line! Thanks guys

Sold / Found / Inactive - 81 Special Rear Brake Camshaft

That's shipping from Virginia, but the price is right! Hadn't thought about looking for a full plate, if nobody here comes up with something I'll do a search and grab that one worst case scenario. Thanks!

Bit grumpy about the whole situation so I don't want to get into it right now, but long story short needed to get in a new brake arm and rod. Couldn't get the brake back plate within Canada, so bought from Mikes and paid through the nose to get it expedited so I could get things going and get...

Sold / Found / Inactive - 81 Special Rear Brake Camshaft

Need a new camshaft and am having a hard time finding one that I can get quickly. Anybody got one on hand? I'm wanting to pay to have it shipped quickly so within Canada is preferable, but I'll take what I can get.

New front stops (cam chain guides) Beta test sale

Great, thanks! I actually came across his site this last week while looking for misc stuff, but there was no info on the guide so I assumed it was the same as Mikes. Glad I saw this thread!

Sorry, a bit lost - @gggGary do you have more of these on hand, or should I reach out to Hoos?

Got the bike back! Much sooner than expected so that's great. The bike runs and feels fantastic. They were able to tap the socket so no Heli-Coil, got in the bronze swingarm bushings and new swing arm bolt tube, then gave a general once over once it was all back together - adjusted my rear...

Oh my god. If the child was old enough to be out working on my bike with me, there would have been a whole lot of "don't do what I'm about to do" teaching moments. Updates on the bike - I got my clutch sorted. Never met up with my buddy but was able to figure it out myself. Without looking it...

Urg. Gonna need to get a hand from a couple of friends. BP7ES spark plugs are impossible to find here, so I did some calling around and was able to track down two LZFH spark plug caps, so now I can go with BP7ES plugs, which are stocked everywhere. So I popped those on yesterday, but somehow I...

Beaut - thank you. As for the rest of your post, those are the plugs I'm using and that's also how I've prepped the ends. You made this suggestion back on page one of this thread and I took it then when I was replacing the caps! Only slept on your advice for swapping out the coil so I could use...

They are resistor caps with non-resistor spark plugs. I went that way because the resistor plugs aren't carried here and need to be brought in. The BP7ES plugs are pretty easy to find.

Thanks - wood screw type deal. Just installed it on my lunch break, coil works but I have the same problem. That's alright, I wanted to replace the coil eventually anyway. So I guess theres either something wrong with the spark plug or the cap. After work I'll swap the two spark plugs to narrow...

Sweet, thanks. Wasn't sure if I couldn't see it in photos because it was inside or if they aren't used all the time.

Alright - small update that I have a question about. Called my mechanic and turns out he had proper coils in stock and he sold me one for cheaper than I could grab a MP08 for + shipping, so grabbed that and will install later today. The boots that the wires go into have smaller little rubber...

Update that is uninteresting to anyone, but I'm using this as a log so I can look back and see what's gone on with the bike. Was really hoping to get some work done over winter but life with a new baby is pretty hectic and there just wasn't the time. Fired up the bike last week to make sure...
