I just finished a harness for my bike and I was also told to unground the stator with nylon screws (not plastic). apparently keeps you from frying the stator.

I thought they would would both fit the same too but for some reason the opening in the bottom of the neck appears to be larger than the top. I was just curious to see if anyone had encountered this problem before or knows of any way I could slip a spacer ring in the lower neck to take the play...
Well I didn't buy the kit to install the bearings. I simply purchased a set of tapered roller bearings which fit the Harley tree. The top fits fine but the lower is loose. I was just wondering if anyone knew how I could space them to fir or make something I could press the bearings into?
I am actually in the process of mounting a springer on my '73 XS hardtail and I just opted to swap out the traditional spoked rims for a set of mags. I replaced the factory loose bearings with a set of tapered roller bearings. I was told that was the way to go and it seems to be a lot stronger...
Thanks for the help everyone I'm going to swap them over tomorrow and swap out the XS forks for a harly springer so it should go smoothly now.
Tech 7 you need to send me pics of the completed bike. I'm a huge hardtail fan andam really interested in seeing the bike completed.
So basically everything stays the same and all I have to do is use and arm mounted to a bracket on the frame to secure it? Thanks for the help.
