Ungrounding 3 screws on stator assembly?? why?

I just finished a harness for my bike and I was also told to unground the stator with nylon screws (not plastic). apparently keeps you from frying the stator. Go to youtube and search this video "XS650 Charging System How to Wire it Up - Continued"......my buddy sent me this link and it shows...

Which years had ball bearning and which years had needle bearings in the head tube?

I thought they would would both fit the same too but for some reason the opening in the bottom of the neck appears to be larger than the top. I was just curious to see if anyone had encountered this problem before or knows of any way I could slip a spacer ring in the lower neck to take the play...

Which years had ball bearning and which years had needle bearings in the head tube?

Well I didn't buy the kit to install the bearings. I simply purchased a set of tapered roller bearings which fit the Harley tree. The top fits fine but the lower is loose. I was just wondering if anyone knew how I could space them to fir or make something I could press the bearings into?

Can anyone clarify on how to fit the tapered roller bearings into the neck of a '73 XS? I'm swaping out the factory front end for a Harley springer.

    springer on mags???

I am actually in the process of mounting a springer on my '73 XS hardtail and I just opted to swap out the traditional spoked rims for a set of mags. I replaced the factory loose bearings with a set of tapered roller bearings. I was told that was the way to go and it seems to be a lot stronger...

    spokes to mags, wheel conversion

So basically everything stays the same and all I have to do is use and arm mounted to a bracket on the frame to secure it? Thanks for the help. I have one more question though. How do I connect the brake pedal to the plunger on the master cylinder?

    spokes to mags, wheel conversion

I am building an XS 650 hardtail and I want to run with aluminum mag wheels as opposed to the spoked wheels for the soul purpose of having a rear disc. Can anyone tell me the proper way to switch the wheels over and how to space them. I also would like to know where to put the caliper and how to...
