    Wanted - WTB - 1970-1971 XS1 -XS1B Front Fender with Stays - Alternate Fitting

I have an xs1 front fender but without the center mounting bracket. Are the fenders different between the bent and straight stay versions? I also have straight stays but for later year disc forks. Don’t know if they’ll interchange. Do you know the length of the stays needed? Perhaps the width...

    Preferred BS carb choice

Thanks DB. I currently run VM34 rs but want to have a spare set. Are these early 38s (no solex on the cap btw) better than say late 38 or 34? Thanks again

    Preferred BS carb choice

In the photo, which carb set would be the better to revamp and use? The top set has E3 markings and the bottom has none. For docile street use, of all of the stock carb variations, which would be preferred for ease to sync, jet, etc? I already read through the tech section - is there a good...

Source for seat trim rivet clips?

MrBt, I’ll take the rivets and clips if dougmuise passes, or just the rivets if he just wants the clips. PM me for your Ppal. Thanks The Special foam and cover on the Std pan looks great and I’d attach the trim.

Source for seat trim rivet clips?

Has anyone found an alternative for the seat trim rivet? 3/4” long, 1/2” head. I see three on eBay,1J7-24789-00 NOS Yamaha Seat Mold Rivet RD400 XS1100 XS750 for $1.23+ship’n. I need 8. Perhaps plastic push rivets would work. Thanks

XS650 Clutch Worm Actuator experiment & tidbits

ggg - Ok, I see now, the early cases with threaded covers have wider bolt spacing. Both of my eng# 4605 and 6269 have push in covers. I presume the 1L9 will fit. Thanks, Thumper

XS650 Clutch Worm Actuator experiment & tidbits

Will the 1L9 worm mount onto an early 256 side case with the wider mounting holes? I vaguely recall a post on mounting a later worm to an early case but searched and can’t find. If this issue has already been addressed, please point me in the right direction. Thanks, Thumper

Oh, oh, look what ended up in my driveway…..

Both the OE and HB replacement crossover braces allow for retaining the evap. I too think that it’s best to wait until after first service or past warranty before modification. There are several ways to achieve the same result. Search guzzitech.com. I’ve also been pleased with AF1 racing in TX...

Oh, oh, look what ended up in my driveway…..

Bosco - I installed the H&B and it was a bear breaking loose the cross frame bolt. Using an impact gun didn’t work and I feared snapping the bolt. I didn’t want to use heat because that would damage the frame paint. I ultimately sprayed PB Blaster on the right threads (some other lube may work...

Love your 850 Special. Very classy with an understated mix of chrome, spokes and graphics. There are a ton of accessories available for your E5. Enjoy. I apologize for hijacking your thread but I’m excited to show my ‘18 V7III Stone that I purchased new at auction two years ago from leftover...

Mystery solved, Thanks. Did the oil filter cover change bolt position in ‘72? Why would that be?

Interesting that the 1b has unused threaded ears by the axle.

Nice! I swapped my original XS1 drum front end to a ‘73 disc. Same length stem but still 34mm. Original disappeared- wish I kept it just as a memento. Which muffs are you running?
