Thanks Gary I have this flowchart, but what I really want to know is the internals of the flasher canceller, Mr Yamaha made a great job of sealing these so no one could get into them

It is also time based as well, the handlebar switch momentarily engages to start the timer in the flasher canceller as well as the Speedo sensor which closes after x distance I would like to try and replicate it with something I could program

yes, they were not known for their reliability. Thats why i want to see what makes it tick lol

Hi guys, Has anyone ever pulled one apart (Flasher canceling box black box) or know the resistance values between the pins on the plug? Or maybe the internal circuit diagram of it? Just trying to work out something on my 78 special. thanks

Exhaust looks great, where did you get it from?

Could be 1. the stator on the way out, 2. safety relay ( which is energised by the yellow wire from the stator), 3. the light checker relay. or a bad connection on any of these. but my guess would be to check the voltage coming out the yellow wire from the stator first

Also check in the headlight bucket that the wiring is connected because the rear indicators get their feed from there , joined with the front ones from the indicator switch.

You need an led flasher relay to work with both leds front and rear.

I did something similar but different, I bought a male and female plug and made a short loom in between the ignition plug and the main harness with a splice like yours 5Twins. difference is it can be removed and the original plugs put back together.

Yes lucky to find the speedo, from Wagga Australia no less, jumped on it as soon as i saw it come up on ebay. the tacho came from the states

Installed NOS speedo and tacho, gives it that new bike feel. Seems a shame to ride it now.

The RE is our sunday coffee run bike for the wife and I, gets lots of looks.
