Can we please put an end to the "long connecting rod" myth??

Ignorance is bliss isn't it Highside ? If you were to read what the claims are, as far as long v.s. short rods, you will find that you misunderstood. Long and short rod motors make close to the same power. Within a few percent. I did not read any where in the long rod discussion where there is a...

    buildin' me a tracker

Hey Racerdave Just get the Champion 750 from Jake and be done with it. Get the taps (petcocks) forward mounted. I bought one from him and it is a good piece. Many, many, many racers around the country run his stuff. This is not my bike (wish it was) but this is the tank. This tank has way...

It is a plastic tank from First Class Glass. The biggest problem is that it is way to small. A little over a gallon maybe..

Internally coated fiberglass tanks? Anyone use one?

This will be a long term business. Not just a one time shot. I would hope to in the long run have all the popular tanks and fenders on race & street bikes all across the country. Not sure on price just yet, but a tank should run in the $275 ball park, and a fender at around $75.

Internally coated fiberglass tanks? Anyone use one?

I have a center mounted tank with mid positioned petcocks and they clear the head no problem. When the petcocks are at the rear it starts to get crowded with the carbs right there. There are a couple ways to attach a stud to the frame. Get your tank position figured out and weld a stud to the...

What about capacity ? Would 2 gallons be enough ?

Internally coated fiberglass tanks? Anyone use one?

Correct, not paintable. The type of plastic these will be made of will hold their color for a long time.

Internally coated fiberglass tanks? Anyone use one?

A Knight and a C&J. They will be center mount. These will be geared for the racing community so a specific low volume application (street tracker) wont happen. Way to expensive to manufacture for a small market. Petcock location ? Mid or rear ?

Internally coated fiberglass tanks? Anyone use one?

So then an old style Harley tank and xr750 fender. Colors would be basic. Red, white, blue, black, orange, green, yellow and maybe flourescent red and green.

Internally coated fiberglass tanks? Anyone use one?

If you had a choice would you perfer a plasic or a steel tank ? What style tank ? What color if it were plastic ? Where would you prefer the petcocks, mid or rear ? 1. Knight 2. Champion 750 3. Harley 4. C&J If you could have a matching plastic fender, what style and color ? 1...

    XS motor winter rebuild!

I like big juggs too.. You said you dont thrash over 7000 rpm. The Shell #1 cam is a short track race cam. I'm not sure of the power band, but I'm thinkin it's going to have plenty of lungs left at 7000. I'm curious cuz that is the exact same setup I am considering. Did they mention operating...

If you go to Mikes XS and look at the cam chains you'll find master links made by the chain companys for their chain. There is also a nice tool for breaking & riveting the chain. Jim
