So, I'm back :p I turned the screws out 4 turns and it starts better when cold but has a dead spot at low revs and intermittent backfire, I'm getting a 90-degree screwdriver so will start tuning.

Well, thank you all for your help, I found the auto-cancelling unit and unplugged it, the turn signals work great now.

On the bottom is the letters C, L, B

OK, so there are 3 connectors on the flasher I take that one is 12v power, ground and switch, how do I know witch is witch?

Hi again, I am totally baffled, my original flasher unit didn't work so I purchased one from MikesXS and it didn't work, I then purchased an original one from eBay and it did the same and the original (video), I then got a cheap one from Amazon and didn't work. I don't know what to try next.

I was scared to break it so I removed the whole sump plate, I never got the other pug out

I did drop the sump plate and soaked the plug overnight with penetrating fluid and it still wont come loose

The drain plug is so tight, I can't get it loose no matter how hard I try

Thanks, everyone for your help, how much oil does the 1981 special take, also there seem to be 2 drain plugs, and what are the long nuts on under the motor?

I did it, I filed/sanded down the O Ring and sanded down the lip on the reservoir and it is now on and doesn't leak. Now need to find out why the flasher won't work, that's another past. Thank you everyone for your help

It doesn't show the O Ring at the bottom of the reservoir

I have an old lid and I screwed it down and left it overnight with calliper grease and it didn't work, I don't want to get a new one as I want it to look original
