I've used both the 70% and the 91% alcohol. It didn't seem to make any difference. Both worked good.

Usually unless they are an odd unavailable size, I just replace "O" rings. I mostly use the wintergreen / alcohol mixture for factory hoses that are pre-shaped or have special bends and no longer available and have become petrified over time.

Came close but luckily it missed me and the bike and now it's not only more organized, it's lighter and bolted to the wall and work bench.

I found it on line at I believe a horse and tack shop. It was the least expensive I could find. It's probably all the same except for the price. The alcohol is just drug store isopropyl alcohol.

I treated a rubber tube that goes from the carb to a filter box (no longer available) on an old John Deere 400 lawn tractor and its stayed soft and subtle for 2 years now. It was hard as a rock before I put it in the alcohol / wintergreen oil solution. I soaked it about 4 days before taking it...

Mix 3 parts isopropyl alcohol to 1 part wintergreen oil, soak old hard rubber part for a few days and the rubber part will come back out of the solution soft and subtle like brand new.

Most times when we get a bit careless we get away with it, but it's that one time it bites us back that we tend not to forget.

I had no problem with those rules or the toolbox for 23 years. I got careless.

I did the same thing. My chisels, punches, sockets, ratchets, hammers, etc were in the top box. The heat gun, hole saws, battery drill and small air grinder and pads, etc were in the lower box making it top heavy.

Once I got the toolbox upright again I emptied it and reorganized everything in it. Some tools that I haven't used in years are now out in the barn in boxes so the toolbox is also much lighter than before. I probably should have removed the original wheels since the toolbox stays in one place...

Yes, top and bottom box are bolted together. If they hadn't been the top box would have probably got me as I ran away from the whole thing tipping over. On the other hand it was much heavier trying to stand back up being bolted together.

Now that my toolbox is upright again and surprisingly no damage other than one drawer lip was bent up, I've lag bolted it to the wall and to the work bench with an "L" bracket. Hindsight is 20/20 in my case.

Had to use my engine hoist to get it upright again. You never think about how many tools you have or the weight of all that till it comes crashing down.

Yes, I had 2 bottom box drawers open and 1 upper drawer open when suddenly more drawers began opening by themselves and I realized the box was tipping towards me. I moved quickly and luckily it missed me and the 81 XS by inches.
