After tons of contemplating of whether to just fix it up a little, ride it and slowly chop it, my wife talked me into just stripping it down completely and building it exactly how I wanted it.

At first I didn't know what direction I was going to take this, hardtail or brat, so I was trying to visualize and get some ideas. I wanted to hardtail it at first but when all is said and done I'm building this bike to ride HARD and the roads are shit here in WA, so I decided to go BRAT!:bike:

After tinkering with the bike for a day and cleaning the carbs it fired right up! So then I started stripping all of the nonsense off of this bad boy!

I bought this bike in February of 2010 for $700 off CL with just over 3,000 mi. :thumbsup: It had been sitting for 17 years in storage so it needed some TLC!

Just a new member dropping in to say hi. I have a 77 xs650 that I'm rebuilding at this time, I'll post pics of my build soon. I love the forum, I've used it a lot before without being a member and now finally decided to take the plunge and sign up. :D
