Attaching Upper Crankcase to Harbor Freight Stand

Figured I'd chime in since someone told me y'all were talking about my HF engine mount. Couple things. The stand is made for car motors, I bought it because it was priced well, and I didn't want a motor stand that sits on a workbench that can't be maneuvered around easily. It does utilize the...

bad fuel filters from mikes xs

I've actually had better luck since, by just using lawn mower in-line filters you can get at the hardware store. I don't know if its because of the ethanol or lack of ethanol that is causing mikes filters to melt but at any rate I wouldn't recommend them. I buy premium for the 650 because the...

Exhaust Leak From Motor to Pipes, How Much is Too Much??

hmmm, well I suppose I did take them on and off with a new set of gaskets to mount the exhaust. I think I have another new set lying around somewhere. Its worth a shot! Thanks.

New exhaust...hot air from one muffler cold on the other

Sounds like you could have a float issue or the carbs need to be synced. They should sound and feel the same on both sides and I would suspect that one is getting more gas than the other.

Exhaust Leak From Motor to Pipes, How Much is Too Much??

Is even a little leak too much? I've recently noticed that there seems to be exhaust pushing out from the headclamps. I cannot pinpoint whether it is coming from the outside or inside of the headclamp but I suspect that it could be because the exhaust is not sitting flush to the gasket inside...

    Clutch Adjustment

Did we find a solution to this? whats the problem if the push rod cannot move in the engine? EDIT: Update I should have mentioned that I was in the process of a rebuild. After I cracked the right side case I discovered that I had tightened the spring screws all the way into the clutch. No where...

    Spoke sellers? Mikes XS Quality?

Well I'm running the 1.85 x 21" x 64 front and its really nicely made. I have not street tested it however. Quality wise, looks and feels good.

    my 81 hard tail build

I wouldn't use that ignition, simply because its large, and it has four terminals for its key start for cars/trucks. I would look at getting something more like this which is smaller, and only has three terminals...

Only running on one cylinder, please help out of ideas

First off don't pull the plug wire off while running because you can damage the coil in the process. Always keep a plug on the end of the wire so it can put out spark. Ask my old coil why I know this. Second, I had the same issue but the carbs were so horribly synced that one cylinder was not...

carburetors leaking gas into air cleaners

it may very well be the push in o-ring on the needle seat. If that is not sealing correctly it will overflow like a sieve.
