I went out and really torqued down on the choke plate screws. Seems to have done the trick. Those screws are pretty soft though so I'll probably change them out with some hardened hex heads. I already did most of the rest of the carbs with them. So thanks to griinder who initially suggested the...

I'll check that as well. I did remove the choke plates this time, where before, the first time I tore down the carbs and cleaned them, I did not. I figure even if it's not the seals I ordered, can't hurt to have them on hand. I needed to order a new oil filter anyways. But thanks for the info...

After some more messing around, I'm pretty sure it's this....I ordered new seals so I'll find out for sure once they get here.

I sprayed carb cleaner all over the carbs and nothing seemed to change the idle except when I got too close to the filters. I'll give it another go though tomorrow and see if I just didn't notice a change.

Well...Back towards the rear they don't...the area that my leg normally would touch when at a stop or whatever. The part of the pipe that burned my pants is about 8" out of the left cylinder where it wraps around the frame. I would expect them to be pretty hot right there...I just didn't realize...

No baffle here either. You can get these pipes from the link below. The pipes are at the bottom left corner. He builds per order but you should have them ina week to 10 days. Great customer service, great pipes, great price.

Haha...speaking of getting warm...took my bike out on a shake down run and ended up burning a hole in my jeans and melted the side of my boot. Guess I need to get some wrap sooner then later.
