I left my bushings in, and they came out perfect. the painter just taped off the outer face of the bushings. I just picked my parts up from the painter on 4 days ago.

I *just* had my bushings pressed in, and then the swing arm was powder coated. It turned out perfect. The powder coater just taped over the bushing 'faces'.

I'm glad that you've had 40 years experience with these bikes. I only stated that I have a 36T rear sprocket, and that I am looking at a 32T. And that PamcoPete made a pretty good excel spreadsheet. I am not questioning your abilities/experience at all, why not contribute to the tech articles...

Bandito, I have a 78 special, and it has a 36 tooth rear sprocket too. It's too much of a coincidence. I think they put 36T on specials. I'm pretty sure i'm going to switch to a 32T sprocket. I would not have ever taken the bike on a large highway with the 36t.

No I didn't use anything else. I just repositioned the wires in the plug to the way the picture stated.

i don't think it was a spot for a pin, as the hole went directly into the needle bearings and it was approx 5 mm wide.

What's everyone's opinion on when to use the Yamabond? It's used for metal to metal bonding, but what about the side covers, or the sump plate? I read somewhere that it's not a bad idea to put it thinly on the sidecover and sump plate gaskets. The question is, Dry or not dry?

The head of the bolts is 8mm. It's not listed on the Torque Page. Hmm.. I'm thinking 7 foot pounds. Not sure though.
