thanks grinder, and oldbiker, i know if i give it more fuel it will probly be fine, and i can jet it but i dislike taking carbs apart very much so if i have a stock airbox i would rather put it on, if not i guess ill just have to suck it up.

does it still have the stock carbs?

hey, i have a 76 xs 650, it came with pods on it and well cv carbs and pods dont work so great, i probly have a stock airbox or 2 in the yard but i dont know what they look like, anyone have a picture so i know what im looking for? thanks.

i had a hard time with the back two bolts on mine i finally gave up and made a special wrench to get in there (frame is really in the way)[/URL][/IMG]

i started with cleaning the carbs on mine, put some carb cleaner down the gaslines and let it sit for about half an hour, then take them apart and start cleaning, id get it running first thing is it was me

those are the stock mufflers but i will be replacing them with a set of 18" mufflers so i will probably be doing some jetting, not a big deal though, i learned these carbs are pretty simple when i cleaned them yesterday

hey, im new on the forum and thought id share, got my first xs650 today when my gpz305 blew up(they dont like doing 100mph) its a 76 in pretty good shape, ive heard good things about these bikes, except for the handling. not sure if the facebook photo will work but ill give it a shot
