how about a pic of the cable going into the side cover outside pic after rereading your above posts I think you may have ordered the wrong cable you should have the guide where it goes into the side cover if your old cable had one

possible if you took the worm gear off the side cover. It could be installed wrong

With the TCI there is no advance or anything to do with points check out the tech section coil is under the gas tank if in the proper location

headlight wont come on until it turns over fusees should be located above the batter unless the po moved them somewhere else

you dont remove the old magnet simply adhear the new one over the old and if needed shim the pickup
